The ongoing conflict in Myanmar has had a severe impact on the nutritional status of children under five. The conflict has exacerbated food insecurity, leading to higher rates of malnutrition among young children. Many families struggle to afford nutritious food, resulting in children being underweight and stunted. The conflict has disrupted healthcare services, making it difficult for children to receive essential nutrition and health care. Many health facilities have been damaged or are inaccessible due to the fighting. The stress and trauma associated with living in conflict zones can also affect children’s nutritional status. Stress can impact a child’s appetite and overall health, further contributing to malnutrition. Rain Maker is providing IYCF awareness to caregivers and prevention of malnutrition.
